Jumbo Lump Daddy and The Backfin Boys have entertained audiences all over the Middle Peninsula and the Northern Neck of Virginia for more than twenty-five years. With a unique lineup of original music alongside an eclectic mix of roots-rock, alt-country, and music from the Americana genre, the band's sound is best described as "Rivahdacious!"

JLD celebrates the music of the triangular geographical area bounded by The Chesapeake Bay, the Caribbean/Florida Keys, and the Gulf Coast/Mississippi Delta.  The “JLD compass” also includes occasional musical stops in Memphis, Austin, and even influences that transcend the ocean from the ‘60’s British Invasion.

Named "Best of the Rivah Country" seven years in a row by the readers of Pleasant Living Magazine, and with more than 225 years of playing experience among the band members, the reimagined Jumbo Lump Daddy has crafted a unique sound that they call "East Virginia Dock Rock" - it's sonically wooden, musically diverse, and full of energy.

With Clayton Neal on guitar, vocals and harmonica, Gary Archer on guitar and vocals, Billy Budd on bass fiddle, and Clark Robins on percussion (djembe), JLD is back with a vengeance and renewed excitement to play for audiences all over Tidewater Virginia and anywhere else there is salt water. So, prepare to put your toes in the water, hear the Jumbo Lump Daddy sound yourself and listen to their brand of "East Virginia Dock Rock" on all major music streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music.
